Here's a spare lock for Chinese tripods that always seem to break at the top. I've lost count of how many tripods I've seen break in half at our photo club, so I decided to create a replacement lock myself. By taking apart one of the tripods, I discovered that it's made up of several separate parts, and I've included them all for your convenience. The support tube measures 0.8 inches (20mm) in diameter, while the main tube is 0.65 inches (16.5mm). Make sure to note that both tubes have grooves on them.
