Update 2019.8.6 Added windowed versions of the full lids (thin and 1kg). Get the base models from original Spannerhands thing. Update 2019.1.28 Updated base and lid models with ears better optimized for printing. BASE2 changed form, requiring less material. Added universal 1kg and 750g core using 608 bearings. Included lip model to prevent spool unraveling inside the container. More rigid bolt added. Update 2018.12.29 Properly aligned models so brackets align better now. Thin bases and lids added, though not tested yet. Preview looks good. Added 16mm and 20mm cores for small spools like Taulman nylon, requiring SMALL_CORE_bearing and SMALL_CORE_axle. TODO: universal core to replace all the ~50mm+ cores and way to stop filament from unfolding from the spool and causing jams. Update 2018.3.22 Added new lid2 windowed version with window frame part. Printed it myself but haven't assembled yet due to lack of translucent material. The space for the window thing is 46x46x1 mm. Updated cores with a small dent on the bearing rim, allowing airsoft pellets/bearing balls to be loaded in by forcing them through the dent. Parts should give just enough to get the balls to pop in. Spannerhands original model is great, but I've always overthought things, so I made some mods to the small volume 1kg version. So the mods: added brackets for M3 nuts and bolts to tighten base and lid parts together. Don't trust glue but that's just me. Added M3 nut indents to the brackets that need screws for easier assembly. Included printable M8 bolt and nuts, though it may not be great as the bolt bends. Probably needs high infill printing. PTFE nozzle with 4mm hole added for M5 thread PTFE coupler. Work in progress cores using airsoft pellets as bearings are included. Got a few printed and they seem to be working great, though the cores are still WIP. TODO: maybe windows and 750g version...
