OVERVIEW This affordable version of our Spanners Wrenches clean used dirty product is now available for purchase. The models included in this collection are identical to those found in the original product, but with additional formats and no textures or materials. CONTENT The product contains two 3D models: a Combination Spanner and an Open End Spanner. POTENTIAL ISSUES The original Spanners were modeled using a quad-based workflow. Unfortunately, two of the formats convert the mesh to triangles, preventing a quad-mesh from being secured. These formats are glTF (.glb) and STL (.stl). If you don't use these formats or don't care about triangles, that's fine. However, if you require a mesh built with quads, there is a solution: convert all the triangles into quads. This can be done in major 3D software using the following methods: * Autodesk 3ds Max: Under Geometry (All), choose Quadrify. * Autodesk Maya: Go to Mesh > Quadrangulate. * Cinema 4D: Under Optimize, choose Untriangulate. * Blender: In edit mode, press Alt + J or go to Face > Tris to Quads. Additionally, the glTF format creates duplicate vertices, which can cause issues. To resolve this, follow these steps: * Autodesk 3ds Max: Watch this video for assistance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLQK-QUMww4&feature=emb_logo * Autodesk Maya: This forum thread may help: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-modeling/overlapping-vertices-please-help/td-p/7214712 * Cinema 4D: Go to Mesh > Commands > Optimize (Also see this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSj1UpOS6uA) * Blender: In edit mode, go to Mesh > Merge > By Distance. Sometimes you may need to experiment with the Merge Distance by pressing F9 directly after merging. We hope these steps resolve the issues. If not, ask on software-specific forums for help or use another format. TECHNICAL DETAILS The technical specifications of the models are as follows: * Open End Spanner: 654; 2,610; 10,434 Vertices / 1,304; 5,216; 20,864 Polygons * Combination Spanner: 774; 3,098; 12,392 Vertices / 1,548; 6,196; 24,784 Polygons In the low resolution, the two spanners have a total of 1,428 Vertices and 2,852 Polygons. In the mid resolution, they have 5,708 Vertices and 11,412 Polygons. In the high resolution, they have 22,826 Vertices and 45,648 Polygons. FORMATS The models are available in Alembic, Collada, FBX, glTF, OBJ, and STL formats. USE AS Use the models in Alembic, Collada, FBX, glTF, OBJ, or STL format. The resolution you choose depends on the distance to the camera: * Low resolution: If the spanner is in the background * Mid resolution: If it's somewhere in the foreground * High resolution: If the camera gets really close USE IN BLENDER We have created a YouTube tutorial on how to import and customize our models in Blender. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4lGpf_4ZIM WANT THE TEXTURES? If you've purchased this product but want the version with textures instead, don't worry!
