Spade drill bit box

Spade drill bit box

A buddy asked me to whip up a custom box for his spade drills, so I got creative and designed one myself. Since he's affectionately known as Cobra, I thought it'd be cool to throw in a snake icon to make the whole thing more personal. The middle support is loaded with 4 neodymium magnets, which are glued in place for extra stability. The back support overhangs the drills just enough to hold them mechanically in position. I started by printing the bottom part of the box, but things took an unexpected turn when I realized I was running low on filament. With seconds to spare, I switched to a fresh spool of red filament - and that's when it hit me: why not use this opportunity to add some flair? Before I knew it, I'd conjured up an idea for the snake icon and even snuck in a HILTI logo (he's a die-hard fan of the brand). The icons you see here are courtesy of Freepik from www.flaticon.com - they're licensed under CC 3.0 BY (check out http://www.freepik.com for more awesome designs).
