As the first in a series of successful biplane fighter aircraft, the SPAD S.VII was manufactured by Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérvies (SPAD) during WWI. These aircraft continued to be used by various countries well into the 1920s after the war ended due to surplus inventory.
