SpaceX Helmet - Rescale & Meshmixer Orientaion
thingiverse
Remix of macktruck's SpaceX Helmet model while printing ran into a couple issues with the parts' orientation causing excessive supports and long print times. Most models were run through MeshMixer's Orientation setting with Strength set to 0.75 and Support Area set to 1, and some scale problems on most seal pieces and others were fixed. Each piece needs to be mirrored to complete the model, but this can almost certainly be done in all slicer tools. Still in process of printing these parts, but The "Back_v2.stl" model's print time was reduced by roughly 3 hours with this version. Experienced some deformation due to supports, but mainly where two pieces meet. Will need to do some sanding and filling. Time and material savings are worth it. All credit goes to macktruck for the model. Printing mine at 115%.
