SpaceX Helmet Replica

SpaceX Helmet Replica

Warning: This is an early version of the SpaceX certification helmet replica that I designed, specifically a replica and not the actual helmet itself. Version 1 has been successfully printed, though the small inserts may be too thin to print, making card stock a possible replacement. At this point, I make no promises that version 2 pieces will fit. The current scale is intended for a head measuring 6.5 inches in width, with the helmet's width approximately 8.5 inches. When scaling down for children, ensure that pieces are of sufficient width. History: This attempt at replicating the SpaceX helmet used for certification of astronauts on the Dragon V2 as part of NASA's Commercial Crew incentive to launch astronauts from American soil is my own creation. The first certification flight of Dragon V2 (DM-1) will hopefully take place in January 2019 from the historic launch complex 39A in Cape Canaveral, Florida. My Media: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_RGK8KKz8Y Revision History: V1 - Between December 26th and 31st - Original version V2 - Posted on December 31st - Cut "top" piece into "top_piece1_V2", "top_piece2_V2", and "top_piece3_V2" for better printing, with no geometry changes and backward compatibility. The "back" and "bottom" pieces were altered to be more accurate and blend together seamlessly. The "back_v2" is technically backwards compatible but unnecessary. The "bottom_v2" is not compatible with the original "back" piece.
