Grasshopper "Divert Test" unfolded on August 13th, 2013. A thrilling 60 seconds flight can be witnessed on SpaceX's YouTube channel. The soundtrack in this immersive 3D animation is directly extracted from that recording. The animation was meticulously crafted using Blender and keyframes. To begin with, an "Empty" object was created and three initial keyframes were inserted (X+Z location / Y rotation), with the interpolation set to "Linear". Next, the data was exported into a Collada (.dae) file. Excel was then used to edit a trajectory based on the 60 seconds footage provided by SpaceX. The edited Collada file, which is essentially an ASCII text document, was subsequently modified using Notepad++. Specifically, the tag was searched for and updated as needed. With the modified data in hand, it was imported back into Blender. The animation of the "Empty" object was finally assigned to the Grasshopper, completing the intricate process. The illustration adapted from zlsadesign adds a distinctive touch to this impressive creation.
