Spacer Shim for Cryptex WHeels
thingiverse
When I printed a cryptex (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3090603), I realized my tolerances weren't spot on, resulting in most of my rings having a noticeable gap between them. After experimenting with different approaches, I came up with these custom inserts to fit snugly between the gaps. Although they're not flawless, they allow all the wheels to turn smoothly, and I've discovered that the slight play between the wheels and nubs creates a satisfying tactile feedback, letting you know when you've reached a letter mechanically.
