Spacer for SSR mount for Trick Laser MAX Metal
thingiverse
This will help you mount an Auber Instruments 100-amp SSR + heat sink to your MAX Metal frame. Print these with as many loops as it takes to make them 100% solid, and use the toughest filament you have. WARNING: These come with NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. Use them at your own risk. I have not tested these on a live machine. You might want to use metal washers instead. If you do want to print and use these, the best filament (to my knowledge) would be Taulman BluPrint. It's rated to withstand boiling temperatures for several hours. The heat they're subject to will depend on air temperature, whether you're using an enclosure, and heat being radiated down by the Onyx as well as the motors and other electronics. I've used these SSRs at 12 volts, and the heat sinks never get perceptibly above room temperature. If you run yours at a higher voltage - most people use 24V - the heat sink will get warmer, but I can't say by how much. That said, I don't anticipate any problems with any of the above. I'm warning you all the same, so you can make an intelligent decision. These spacers are for use with the following: Auber 100-Amp SSAuber HS25 Heat Sink You will also need Unbrako #10-32 x 1/2" screws and 80/20 Inc. Roll-In T-Slot Nuts. After fastening the heat sink to the SSR (don't forget the thermal paste), install one of these spacers on each of two Unbrako screws, then screw the SSR to the T-slot nuts. Refer to the photos above. IMPORTANT: Do not over-tighten. Inspect the spacers for cracks after installation, whenever the printer is moved or jostled, and every now and then (at your discretion). You DO NOT want your SSR to fall down inside the printer!
