Spacer for Magnetic USB C
thingiverse
I purchased the magnetic USB C connected by the original creator of the Knuckles/Index stand. The holes are precisely designed for the diameter of the connector. Unfortunately, they sit about 1.8mm too low in the hole, which means over time the connector can sink into the hole and cause the magnetic tip to lose its connection. To secure things, I managed to create this tiny spacer to hold the connector body at the right level to maintain a consistent connection when putting my controllers away. The one STL prints two spacers. Each piece goes in the back half opposite the cable slit. The easiest way to insert it is with tweezers or pliers, forceps. Use them to wedge it in the back of the hole flush with the top. Then insert the USB wire and connector and use it to pull it down into the hole. You should end up with the connector flush with the front of the hole (see pictures). If the fit is off due to variances in connectors and/or printers, just scale in the z direction. Mine worked first try, but your tolerances may vary a bit.
