Spacer for Creator X Raffle Alu Cooling blocks
thingiverse
To utilize Carl's Alu block with a stock Flashforge Creator X extruder, I crafted spacers for correct filament alignment with the thermal barrier. The Alu dual cooling block is available at this link: http://shop.raffle.ch/shop/alu-dual-cooling-block/. Alternatively, a makerbot feeder can be printed or purchased; however, I'm still undecided about that option and considering the popular 3in1 machined feeder. The spacers are straightforward to print, requiring 100% infill, 1 shell, and .2 layer height for optimal results. For my setup, I employed a combination of one 1mm and one .5mm spacer, necessitating a longer screw - I used this one: http://www.mcmaster.com/#91294a126/=rlve60. Another choice is to counter-sink the mount screw holes for increased reach, but procuring new screws is affordable and avoids modification.
