Space Woman - the lost survivors on mars
sketchfab
I'm showcasing my creation for the Sketchfab February Challenge: Frontiers, an immersive scene that pays homage to the classic pulp magazines of yesteryear. My goal was to craft a captivating cover story where a lone, stranded protagonist stumbles upon an ancient colony teeming with survivors. The models were meticulously crafted in Maya, while I brought the character and terrain to life using ZBrush Core. To optimize performance, I employed Instant Meshes to dramatically reduce the polycount. As the foundation for my astronaut model, I leveraged a base mesh generated by this impressive tool. The textures were then meticulously painted with Substance Painter, resulting in stunning visuals that bring depth and realism to the scene. To further enhance the atmosphere, I created shadow maps using Blender's advanced capabilities, allowing the characters and environment to cast rich, detailed shadows that add an extra layer of immersion.
