Space Utility Belt

Space Utility Belt

thingiverse

Designed originally for astronauts aboard space stations and similar installations, this kit enables creation of a Space-Age Utility Belt with multiple capsules. Attach them using paracord or zip-ties with the connectors to your paracord belt and secure everything within easy reach. The pulley system proves useful in zero-gravity situations occasionally. Modified in 2019 for use on Earth by individuals who spend time at the lake or similar locations, this design incorporates a watertight lid with a loop section super-glued securely to hold items that should remain dry. Use the other lid with holes for objects that can get wet without issue. The pulleys are optional; simply super-glue PLA filament segments into the holes after assembly if desired. Adjust the container's height by disabling unified scaling, then grab the Z-axis and drag it upward to your required height. The lid should still fit in place. I noticed that printing just the container alone would take around 10 hours initially, so I optimized settings to reduce print time to under two hours. A picture of my settings is available for reference; please note that a .8mm nozzle was used to achieve these results. If you don't have a .8mm nozzle, consider purchasing one to significantly reduce your print times. Although it lacks fine detail capabilities, this setup excels at prototyping and printing large objects. Take screenshots of all Cura settings before modifying them according to my recommendations, as I experienced issues when trying to revert back to previous settings after changing them. Be cautious of this potential problem.
