Space Station Zero Die
thingiverse
So, a new miniatures game called Space Station Zero just came out, and I got all excited about it... Watching the playthrough made it super attractive to me, so I decided to make a die for it that works a little better with the game mechanics. The "12" is a simple circle, the "1" is an X, and the even numbers in between are all there. The odd numbers are blank. As I write this, a pack of eight of these just came out of my Phrozen Sonic Mini, but I'm planning to add some paint to the symbols to make it even easier to read (red for the X, green for the circle, and blue or black for the numbers). Special thanks to @Non_Sleeper on the Space Station Zero Discord for pointing out that these are actually much more useful than I thought! At least two abilities in the game allow you to change the result by one number, turning a miss into a success. Turns out you CAN do that with these dice. Collect up your misses (blanks and X's), and then flip them over, from the face they're showing to the face they're resting on (directly opposite). Then, pick the new result you want. To keep it statistically accurate, any X's have to become 2, and any 2's revealed in this way can become 12's (circle). Some things ask for a straight roll, and you can get that with these dice as well. Here's the translation: Need 2+ - Roll 10 or lower (including blanks) Need 3+ - Roll 8 or lower (including blanks) Need 4+ - Roll 6 or lower (including blanks) Need 5+ - Roll 4 or lower (including blanks) Need 6+ - Roll ANY symbol Need 7+ - Roll 2+ Need 8+ - Roll 4+ Need 9+ - Roll 6+ Need 10+ - Roll 8+ Need 11+ - Roll 10+ Need 12 - Roll 12 (circle) It's a little unconventional, but I had fun making it, and I hope it rolls well for you!
