Space station Vjuga

Once upon a time, after Russia's military space station "Almaz" or "Diamond" was decommissioned but before the deployment of the Dead Hand nuclear missile defense system "Perimeter," there existed a secret nuclear deterrence program called "Vjuga" or "Blizzard." A silent sentinel in the sky, crewed by two long-stay astronauts, this space station's primary purpose was to listen and watch for nuclear explosions on USSR territory and strike with six 500-megaton nuclear warheads. The station completely relied on visiting resupply ships to boost its orbit, as the maneuvering module had been replaced by nuclear warhead tubes strapped to their third-stage boosters. This eliminated the long ascending trajectory, allowing nukes to strike almost immediately, rendering any missile defense system useless as long as the station remained out of reach in its high geosynchronous equatorial orbit (GEO). Only two test firings are known, both successfully hitting targets at Kamchatka. There is no historical evidence that actual nuclear warheads were delivered to the station and armed, but the concern it caused was enough to cancel USA space bomber "Space Shuttle" flights over Kremlin. Modules: GN "The Nest" - a docking module for resupply ships. Contains four large viewpoints used by cameras and telescopes. KBO "Command- Living Module" - the main living and working place. Contains Freon command and guidance computers, equipment racks, sleeping stations, and storage lockers. AO "Equipment Module" - cold/vacuum storage and equipment space. RO "Missile Module" - contains tubes with six 500-megaton nukes strapped to their third-stage boosters.
