This desk reminds me of one featured in "That 70's Show," which I've slightly enhanced. It would be perfect for a small child, and its simplicity is quite neat. The design is also suitable for the MakerBotable contest at makezine.com/go/makerbot. To enhance it further, consider making the desk hollow by drilling from the bottom and inserting a bright LED.
