Space Shuttle
thingiverse
I really enjoy creating space ships and space shuttles - and sometimes drawing them. With the help of 3D software available, my chances of making such things have increased significantly. I built this project out of images I saw on NASA's website and decided to share it with others so that other people can benefit from using these things... How I Designed This Step 1 I started by looking at close-up images of the space shuttle. Google Images - Space Shuttles Google Images - Space Shuttle Design Step 2 Use a 3D designing software (I used 123D Design). Insert four cylinders (three cylinders for the booster rockets and one for the shuttle itself). Consider the proportions. Use the Chamfer and Fillet options to sharpen the points. Step 3 Add details by using Polyline (you can split solids and add more details to it). Step 4 Merge the solids together and print it [if possible]. Enjoy your very own-made space shuttle... Requirements Nothing is needed but a creative mind and a computer - works best if your computer is powerful. You need to download one of the 3D software (123D Design) or use the online ones (which are much easier to utilize) as that of Tinkercad... Project: Space Shuttle Design Objectives I was inspired by many people, including my teacher, to create 3D models. I decided to create a 3D model as simple as it is and transfer this notion of creativity and love of art to others. Audiences Skills: simple computer skills and familiarity with the 3D printing and 3D printing software. Grades: 5 - 12+ Ages: 8 - 99+ Side Note: Younger people might not be able to work with 3D designing software, hence choosing the age category and grades as high as grade 5 and 8 years. Project Idea Please refer to the “How I Designed This” section to get a brief summary of how to design this project. Results By the end of this project, you will have a space shuttle that I designed by yourself. [if you can print the Space Shuttle], you will have your own space Shuttle and can place it on a flat surface (i.e. a table) or hang it from a wall.
With this file you will be able to print Space Shuttle with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Space Shuttle.
