The Space Shuttle, a partially reusable spacecraft operated by NASA, comprised part of the Space Transportation System (STS) as detailed in a 1969 plan for several reusable spacecraft. With four orbital test flights beginning in 1981 and operational missions starting in '82, five complete Shuttle systems were built and used on 135 missions from '81 to '11, all launched from Florida's Kennedy Space Center. These missions launched satellites, probes, and the Hubble Space Telescope, conducted experiments, and contributed to International Space Station construction and servicing. The Shuttle fleet amassed a total mission time of 1322 days, 19 hours, 21 minutes, and 23 seconds.
