Space Ship Landing Gear

I was searching for landing gear to add to my fun little model spaceship that I'm still designing. Based loosely on the X-wing's landing gear, this design could also work well for a model X-wing if you're interested. My favorite aspect of this is its functionality. If you want to motorize it, I recommend adding a rack gear onto the piece that slides through the base and possibly a worm gear on a motor to achieve really smooth folding and unfolding. I had to sand down my axles/cylinders slightly, so it might be a good idea to make your own cylinders at a slightly smaller diameter. My design challenges included calculating arm lengths to get it to fold up into a compact space and then unfold flat. It took me about four or five prototypes before I got the foot to line up in the right spot. I made this on a whim, and I just wanted to share! I hope it gets some use as it's my first post here.
