I reassembled my printer, which was too small to print this entire project in one go, so I decided to split it into two separate pieces. Next, I saved the STL files for each piece, thinking that I had successfully exported the second part as well. The interesting thing is that since the second piece has a zero tolerance fit when it prints, it essentially fuses both surfaces together - they touch and get printed as one solid piece. However, in the middle of this fused section, there's an unusual double wall layer structure that added an extra level of complexity to the print job. I managed to salvage the project by applying some crazy glue and giving it a fresh coat of paint.
