Space-Filling Array with Polar Triacontahedra

Space-Filling Array with Polar Triacontahedra

This is built with a six directional setup. The edge lines intersect at 90°, at arccos 2/3 = 48.19…°and at arccos -1/3 = 109.47…°. The primary cell is a Polar Triacontahedron, a zonohedron. Minor cells feature one or more zones reduced to zero. In this model, there are only two kinds of minor cells: One type of Rhombic Dodecahedron, and Cubes. Two orientations of cubes are shown in blue and red. This demonstrates that the system is fundamentally two 3-axis systems. They are rotated 60° from each other about a 3-fold axis. This model showcases full rotational symmetry, reflection planes, and more. Created with vZome.
