This is a comprehensive set of storage and chit containers designed to hold all the content released for the board game Space Empires 4x up to the Replicator expansion. This setup fits perfectly into a large game box measuring 16"x11"x3.5" (40.5x27.5x9cm), which in my case is an expansion box from the game Galaxy Defenders. To give it a sleek look, I sprayed this case black, applied label paper, and varnished it, resulting in the display above. To improve these containers, one could consider changing the lid to a sliding one for example, or modifying the cards tray for better functionality. However, they work fine for me at present, and you may need to adjust some lids slightly with greenstuff to make them fit tighter. The chit holders are based on Kickbut01's design but were entirely remade in Autodesk Fusion 360 with different dimensions. An added feature is the inclusion of spacers that you place under the tiles in sections where the holder isn't filled up with tiles. This makes them more secure and prevents them from falling out sideways. For each regular player, two ship trays with lids and one larger tray with a lid for systems and markers are required. I recommend printing these containers in each player's colour as a matter of preference. For tokens, you can use the regular chits, wooden cubes, or print the tokens I've listed below. Each regular player also needs the following spacers - they're available as singles and soon as one combined print file - if using my suggested layout (based on the ship chart) as pictured above among the images. Each player gets 10 number 1-2, 5 number 3-4, and 3 number 5-6, with the rest of the numbers going into the neutral trays. 1x2mm 2x4mm 3x6mm 12x8mm 4x10mm 2x12mm 2x14mm 1x16mm For the Replicator player, the spacers needed are: 1x6mm 1x8mm 1x10mm 3x14mm 2x16mm 4x18mm 1x28mm For the small Neutral chits, they're not sorted but are in trays. My suggested layout is shown in a photo above. The 100 small tokens are saved punchouts from another game (Roll Player) and are used in some scenarios as relics. For the terrain hexes, I've sorted them as follows: 1 full stack of Asteroids 1 full stack of Nebulas 1 mixed stack of Asteroids/Nebulas 1 full stack of Neutral Worlds 1 stack of Black Holes 1 stack of Supernovas 1 mixed stack of Galactic Capital, Worm Holes, and Folds in Space Spacers for these have been provided. The cards are stored in a container with movable dividers. This could be better designed but it works and fills up the box. I would recommend printing 4 dividers. For the tokens, I've printed the following, but if you have any better suggestions send me a message. I print these in as fine quality as I can. This should be enough to replace all non-combat markers (except Miners) with physical tokens. 16x Industry: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2531516/ (scale so that longest edge is 15mm) 16x Research: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3223/ (scale so that longest edge is 15mm) 28x Pipeline: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2569929/ (scale non-uniform to 12x15x8mm for easier pickup) 16x Colony Ship: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:159643/ (scale non-uniform to 9x15x8mm for easier pickup)
