We started a company, teaching kids about robotics and programming from the age of four upwards. Our plan is to reward Space Cadets with badges when they finish our workshops and programs. This badge project is what inspired us - to recognize the creativity and skill that "Space Cadets" have acquired in learning to build a working robot. Design flow: Inkscape allows us to create curvaceous text on a flat plane, which we can then save as an SVG file. From there, we import the file into 123D Design (previously Fusion 360), where it forms the base of our 3D solid model. To see how this was accomplished, take a look at the discussion on Autodesk's forums, in particular the document entitled Curved Text and found under "Design Validate Document" thread #5386771.
