The TV series "Space 1999" follows the adventures of lunar base Alpha's inhabitants as they journey into deep space after the Moon breaks free from Earth's orbit. New civilizations and planets await the lunar colony, which was inspired by the pioneering space exploration of the '60s culminating in the Apollo moon landings between 1969-1972. Although a human settlement on the Moon remains elusive, scientists continue to conduct experiments aboard the International Space Station to develop strategies for surviving on foreign planets or in zero-gravity environments during space travel. To achieve this look, I used an image of the Moon's crater Plato as a base and applied a distorted texture in Blender 2.82a. The lunar base Alpha was then added from a kmz model sourced from http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=804561&filename=Alpha%20Moon%20Base.kmz, which I converted to gltf/glb format for seamless import into Blender. The creator of the Alpha Moon Base model deserves special thanks.
