Friend of mine needed replacement filter covers for his spa but couldn't find them due to deteriorated, old imperial measurements. I designed custom replacement covers split into two halves as my printer's platform was too small to handle a single print. A small joining block gave glued edges additional strength and rigidity. Two sides plus the joining block were coated with Tetra for optimal sealing, and the finished cover was securely fastened in door clamps for 12 hours before he installed it. Replacement covers were made of natural translucent ABS, and his response was extremely positive - saying the seam cannot be seen underwater and that they looked better than the original units which had many slots along their edges as opposed to my small circles. They have been exposed to his kids who literally wore them down last summer with trampling and still remained functional due to their impressive strength and resilience, standing strong even after nearly a year of use. Our designs allowed for smaller circles that effectively prevented items like rings, coins, and similar objects from getting sucked through despite minimal sizes.
