To repurpose the SP500 as a travel telescope, I designed this tripod mount adapter and a 1.25 inch eyepiece adapter. The objective lens will be secured with a steel band ring mount and attached to a tripod or a photo EQ mount like the Star Adventurer Mini using an Arca Swiss mount adapter. All parts are printed and tested, functioning as intended for me so far. Some eyepieces may not approach close enough to the back lens of the SP500 due to the design. This issue can be resolved by shortening the 1.25 inch mount, but this modification would necessitate expanding the tube on the lens side for stability reasons. Unfortunately, this expansion will require additional support.
