SOVOL SV01 Spool Holder, Arm & Mount
thingiverse
I bought a 2nd hand Sovol SV01, but the spool holder & arm was completely missing. I didn't want to use a free-standing spool holder, as I wanted to be able to feed the filament from above as intended, as with three 3D printers, I've very little free work surface space. So I went about designing the whole spool holder, arm & mount. Plus I wanted the holder to be adjustable for different depth spools as well. As it is a right angle design & is going to be carrying the weight of full spools, I reinforced it with coach bolts & nuts that I already had (cutting one down to length). But it could also be done using threaded rods of M8 & M6 (of the appropriate length) & their corresponding nuts. For attaching the mount to the gantry, change out the original screws for longer ones of the same diameter. I printed mine with 100% infill. Yes, that may well have been absolute overkill, but I just wanted to give it as much strength as possible. But adjust it as you see fit. The cap & its fixing I added purely for aesthetics, so its by no means a necessity. But if you do decide to use it, a bit of filing will be necessary to join up the thread from spool arm, so the screw fitting can be screwed on & off. I did also decorate my spool arm with decorative strips - many thanks to roter_baron01 for this. The decorative strips for the Sovol SV01 can be found here - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4145984 I hope this in whole or in part may be useful to others
