Sovereign Reaper & Support

Sovereign Reaper & Support

A friend asked me if I could print a Sovereign Reaper model for his son. Starting with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:877304 by mausolfb, I made a few attempts before landing on this version. Posting it here in case it's useful to others. The model breaks down into several pieces: * The top half of the model, known as Reaper Top, should print without support. It's best to keep infill low, around 10%, to minimize weight. * The bottom half of the model, known as Reaper Bottom, requires significant support for printing. I used Cura's 'tree' support generation when slicing it. To keep weight down, consider keeping infill low at around 10%. * A separate piece called Reaper Middle Leg should print without support. To maintain balance and prevent top heaviness, suggest keeping infill low at around 10%. * The Reaper Pin is used to locate the top and bottom halves when attaching them together. This part prints without support but may require scaling up or down depending on your printer's specifications. For added strength, consider setting infill higher at 25%. I've also included files for a custom-made support system created for this model. The support consists of several parts that print without supports: * Reaper Support is the main body of the support system, designed to grasp the model below its cut. To add stability, suggest setting infill higher at around 25%. * Reaper Support Base is a truncated cone intended to accept the support and attach it to the base used for the completed model. This part may require scaling up or down depending on your printer's specifications. For added strength, consider setting infill higher at around 25%. * Two Reaper Support Wedges are glued into the 'mouth' of the support to keep the model upright when in position. * A Reaper Leg Support is used to raise the middle leg from the base and align it with the model when positioned with the support. * The simple name plate, known as Reaper Name Plate, can be created using the scad file and write.scad function.
