A bollard near the southern end of Southwark Bridge, London serves as an old cannon repurposed for modern use. Several similar cannon bollards dot the cityscape around London, their origins shrouded in mystery. The theory that they came from French warships captured during the Battle of Trafalgar is unlikely to be true.
