Southern California Regional Elevation Model

thingiverse

Two Southern California region models, at scales 1:2,000,000 and 1:5,000,000 when printed 150mm, feature the Los Angeles basin, San Andreas and Garlock faults, and High Desert. The larger-scale model encompasses Northern Mexico regions. These models were developed using NOAA National Geophysical Data Center's Global Land 1-km (GLOBE) data via MapWindowGIS and Sketchup with "Heightmap to Mesh" plugin. Post-processing was completed in Netfabb and Meshlab. The link provided showcases their utilization in an educational context: https://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2013AM/webprogram/Paper232739.html
