I designed these guards to fit snugly over the LEDs, protecting them from being knocked out of alignment by the ball. They effectively replace the mounting post sleeve under the plastics. When trying to install the left one, I realized I'd have to remove the left plastic first, so I created a second style that snaps securely over the existing post. On October 8th, 2018, I added three more models with an additional block to support the wire ball guide. This change was made after my guide kept getting pushed down, which likely caused the LED to get hit in the first place. To install it, I had to remove the opto bracket, but now the guide seems to be staying firmly in place. On March 10th, 2019, I added a left protector with a cutout that works seamlessly with my left plastic support.
