UPDATE: This thing is now replaced by a more comprehensive set of gears. The initial interest in this set was encouraging, so I decided to expand it into a full set. I've replaced the original item with three separate items that provide a complete range of gears. I needed a reliable shop reference for my SouthBend 9C lathe, so I created a pdf detailing standard and metric gear choices. The standard thread options come from the SouthBend tags, while the metric ones are based on my own calculations. Although I believe they're accurate, I haven't tested them yet, and the pdf is included in the file downloads. I already had most of the standard gears, but I lacked the necessary metric gear designs. Using FreeCAD, I created additional gears according to my tables, and I also designed some missing standard gears. These designs adhere strictly to the specifications for SouthBend 9C lathes, and they'll also work for 9A or 9B models. However, larger metric transposing gears might not fit under the guard or may not fit at all. Since I didn't measure them, I relied on the smaller transposing gear's accuracy. I initially designed these gears over a year ago but only shared them on Thingiverse recently (10/23/2018). The response exceeded my expectations, so I'm considering completing the remaining standard gears to make the full set available. Note: Thingiverse renamed some files by removing the colon character. For example, 4337 should be 43:37, 127100 should be 127:100, 41 should be 4:1, and 31 should be 3:1 in the file names. I've included my FreeCAD design files for reference. When printing compound gears, make sure to place the larger gear on the bottom. If you encounter any issues or find errors, please let me know. I'm also open to suggestions for better gear selections.
