Bolas, or balls in Spanish, were a South American Indian hunting tool, used to bring down prey by swinging two or more rounded stones tied to leather cord at speed like a lasso. Gauchos employed bolas as well, utilizing them to snag fleeing cattle with great effectiveness. Uruguay's southern region is where this set of three boleadoras originates from, an area once inhabited by the large and influential population of aboriginal Charrúa hunter-gatherers who too hunted with weapons such as these very same balls. Given this background information, it seems entirely plausible that this pair of bolas actually belonged to them. Models made possible through photogrammetry display accuracy equivalent to the original real stones due to the techniques utilized. These models found within .blend files are modified versions featuring exact measurements identical to those found in real life objects, matching scale for accuracy's sake. Geometric shapes were smoothed to provide improved design. However, original designs remain intact with all their material and texture in a single obj file format so customization possibilities extend freely according to individual choice. The stone's surface images are displayed at a staggering resolution of 4096 pixels by 4096.
