Sous Vide controller, 220V version
thingiverse
In his blog, "Seattle Food Geek" discusses his DIY Sous vide heating immersion circulator costing $75. Unfortunately, due to being in Europe, shops that sell the required parts either do not ship internationally or have high shipping charges and import taxes. The author initially planned to use a JLD612 PID but purchased a cheaper Sesto D1S as an alternative, which requires using Auber's manual for guidance. When opting for other PIDs, be cautious about the type of input and output. The "D1S-VR-220" model from MixTea's EBay store has an SSR output. For the build, a separate box was created for the controller and heater, and a submersible aquarium pump was used instead of a LOW voltage one. A 1:1 schematic was provided to ease assembly. The author warns about handling mains power and not connecting heaters until fully submerged, as it can be fatal. Fahrenheit-Celsius conversions are also included on the front plate for convenience.
