Sopwith Pup
cults3d
Based on schematics of the original Sopwith Pup, carefully modeled in Sketchup, Tinkercad, and OpenSCAD. Every feature is as close to scale as possible, with one notable exception - the wing spars coming off the fuselage had to be adjusted for structural reasons. The finishing process involved a bit of sanding to smooth out any rough edges, followed by a slathering of epoxy for a silky finish. To add the final touches, an airbrush and paint were used. However, attaching the top wing proved to be quite challenging due to the intricate positioning required for all those wing spars. In the end, I opted to take a break and return three months later when my patience had been replenished. Although I'm not entirely sure which .stl file ultimately worked its way into the main print, I've uploaded several possible candidates. Feel free to enjoy this replica of the Sopwith Pup, and don't hesitate to share your photos if you decide to bring it to life through 3D printing.
