The Sopwith Pup was a British single-seater biplane fighter aircraft designed by the Sopwith Aviation Company. First entering service with both the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service in autumn 1916, this aircraft quickly proved itself to be a formidable opponent on the battlefield. With its pleasant flying characteristics and exceptional maneuverability, the Pup was highly successful, but it eventually found itself outmatched by newer German fighters. By the end of 1917, the Pup had largely been replaced on the Western Front, although some units continued to use the aircraft for home defense and training purposes. The model depicts FSLt. Pierce flying Sopwith Pup N6171 of the 3rd Naval Air Service in April and May 1917. Price: $99.00 Date added: Aug 06, 2015 Last update: Nov 08, 2015 Product id: 55c3592fccff75b0688b4728
