Sony SRS X55 support

I'm having trouble getting my Sony SRS X55 speaker working properly. It's not turning on, and when it does, the volume is too low to hear clearly. I've tried restarting it a few times, but that doesn't seem to be helping. Is there something wrong with the speaker itself, or could this be an issue with my device?
