This is a repair kit specifically designed for the Sony PVM-14M2U video production monitor. Many of these monitors have been subjected to rough handling throughout their lifespan, which often results in broken CRT mounting points. When this happens, the CRT can shift within its case, leading to an out-of-alignment image or distortion caused by the CRT touching the speaker. In extreme cases, this can even cause the device to fail completely. This repair kit provides a reliable alternative mounting location when the top mount point fails. Both left-hand and right-hand brackets are included in the kit, each designed to offer a secure hold for the CRT. The alternative bracket attaches using an M3x8 bolt and a flat square nut, which fit perfectly into existing holes in the metal frame. A second lower hole aligns with the external case screw that passes through the frame and into the bracket, providing additional reinforcement for the CRT mounting. A set of components is included to secure the CRT to the bracket: an M6 bolt, washer, and nut. By utilizing a flat nut and a pass-through design, this repair kit ensures that it does not obstruct the case when reassembling the monitor, maintaining its original appearance. When installing the M6 bolt, be sure not to overtighten it, as this can cause layer separation in the bracket.
