Sony PS3 EYE -> Ultimaker 2 housing
thingiverse
I am excited to share with you a Bracket and a new camera body for Sony PS3 EYE camera that I designed specifically for use on the Ultimaker2 Buildplate. The size of the Buildplate holder and the camera body is compact enough to fit snugly into the space between the Buildplate and the Ultimaker body, making it perfect for use with a door in front of your Ultimaker. I used a lens from an old GoPro camera (170° view) to capture a wider view of the build area, and also utilized the old lens of the PS3 EYE camera to create a new thread in the newly printed housing. You can use the old metal lens body with a hot air gun to easily "cut" the new thread into the camera body. Unfortunately, I was unable to successfully construct an M12x1 thread into the lens hole. The Bracket comes with two configurations for different view perspectives. However, if you choose to use the second one, be sure to print in the center of the Buildplate, as the Printhead may crash into the camera housing due to its alternate angle. I successfully connected the USB camera to my Octoprint Server without any issues.
