Sony NEX-5 Camera Screen Sun Shield

I've been rocking this camera for years and it's become my trusty sidekick. The only gripe I had was taking snaps in harsh sunlight, which made using the thing a real pain since it doesn't have a viewfinder to boot. Well, not anymore - mine just got fitted with one! After spending mere minutes in direct sunlight testing it out, I can confidently say it makes the whole experience infinitely more manageable. To be sure, I'll spend some quality time snapping pics and adjust the size of the shield as needed. If any changes come into play, you'll catch an update right here. Getting this puppy attached was a breeze: simply slip in the right side, snap on the left, then ease down another centimeter to cover up the screen - voilà! My LCD screen still moves freely, but it no longer nestles against the camera like before; instead, it protrudes by about 7mm. Don't you worry, though - the menu and option buttons are merely obscured, just enough not to bother me, and certainly not to distract from this awesome hack. Let's get down to brass tacks: this baby was specifically designed for the NEX-5's LCD screen. You know how that thingy folds out and rotates? This shield is custom-fit for just such a rig. If you're in need of one for your different model, take a peek at the STL file - if it fits, great; otherwise, just print up the clip part first to see if you'll even be able to make use of it. **The Fine Print** You gotta rotate that STL file 90 degrees before hitting print, making sure the top bit is laying flat on the build plate. Easy does it: supports aren't necessary when printing whole. My setup's at 0.2mm, speed at a leisurely 50mm/sec
