This is a hot-shoe cover that I designed for the Sony Alpha series of cameras. It is friction fit and, if you have a properly calibrated printer, should never fall out on its own. It is effective in keeping dirt and dust out of your hot-shoe until the time at which you are ready to mount an external flash unit.
