Sony ECM-XM1 Self Clip - 20mm Shotgun Mic Mount
thingiverse

What:

A self clip design for the Sony ECM-XM1, allowing the microphone to securely attach to its XLR shell/plug.

Why?

I created a remix that enabled the microphone to be attached to a shoe mount. Although it functions well, I often shoot with a wireless microphone simultaneously, and the multi-shoe mount becomes cumbersome.

This solution allows the microphone to clip onto itself on my Tascam DR-60DmkII, freeing up space for the wireless receiver on the a7iii's shoe.

The good:

It successfully attaches!

A significantly more professional appearance than the 3-1 shoe mount adapter (MOVO 3BA-1) I previously used.

Might be compatible with other 20mm diameter shotgun microphones.

The bad:

Dependent on XLR jack placement, potentially limiting its application to the Tascam DR-60.

It overhangs slightly but prints well for me.

Tinkercad project: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/3uIjKg0EzBg I was experimenting with a two-piece glue-able version to enhance print orientation strength, but the standalone model is holding up surprisingly well.
