Sony E-Mount body to Nikon F-Mount Lens adapter

I wanted to utilize my old Nikon D40 kit camera's lens with my new Sony NEX-5R in order to have complete mechanical control over focus, zoom, and aperture settings. After several trial runs, this is what I've created as an adapter - no cleaning or supports required! Simply print it out in PLA and assemble the parts together. To attach the Nikon lens, align the small white dot on the lens with the L-shaped indent on this adaptor ring, then screw it in counterclockwise. My D40's kit lens relies on the camera to set its aperture via a small prong on the lens mount - so I've included a little poker thingy in the adapter, which opens up the aperture when the lens is fully screwed in. To close the aperture, simply unscrew the lens slightly - you'll see two small indents on the adaptor indicating the range of aperture settings. Align the white dot on the F-Mount lens within this range and you'll be all set. Of course, you'll have to eyeball it - none of this is calibrated or measured precisely! Version 1.0 of this adapter was largely an experiment, with a lot of guesswork involved. Version 1.1 is based on actual measurements of camera bodies and lenses, built with precision to accurately line up the focal plane of the Sony camera. I'd like to thank GEsteve for pointing me in the right direction. I used nameless911's EOS to Nikon F-Mount adapter as a reference when designing this one, but their actual mesh wasn't reused. To do: design a mechanism to lock the Nikon lens securely in place, so it can't accidentally come loose.
