The battery fits snugly into its designated space within the case, which then secures it firmly in place until you choose to remove it. On the backside of the case, there's a slot designed specifically for attaching it to the camera strap. This ensures the battery is always at your fingertips when needed. You can certainly use this case without a strap as well - it will provide reliable protection from bumps and scratches if kept in a pocket or bag. A recessed area within the case accommodates the battery pins, effectively absorbing any pressure that might be applied to them if the battery were to be dropped or hit. This case is compatible with batteries used by Sony Alpha A5000, A6000, NEX-3, NEX-5, NEX-6 and NEX-7 series cameras. It also fits InfoLITHIUM W-series batteries used in other camera models. v5 - UNTESTED The v5 version features stronger clips that securely hold the battery in place. While there have been no reports of the battery falling out with the previous version, it's possible that the new clips may be too rigid depending on the chosen material and infill settings.
