Sony Action Cam pistol grip mount

Sony Action Cam pistol grip mount

Hi everyone! I needed a comfortable grip for my Sony action cam while surfing or doing water activities. So, I used a pistol grip model and added a camera mount. To secure it, I attached a 50lb fishing trace to the camera and ran it through the grip's hole, attaching it to a fin saver that straps onto your wrist. If needed, you can release the camera, and everything will still be attached to you. The start/stop button is easily accessible with your thumb. To assemble, you'll need: - 1/4" x 3/4" UNC hex bolt (cut down, possibly 1/2") for the standard camera mount - M6 x 30 button head cap screw - M6 nyloc nut - A fin saver or wrist strap to secure the setup - 200+ long fishing trace with one end attached to the camera and the other to the fin saver. Note: I faced issues with the knob part's export scale; let me know if you encounter this, and I'll try fixing it. Print the parts using an UP Mini 3D printer (I used solid parts for the camera mount and knob, while the grip had a fine honeycomb fill). Trim the UNC bolt and ensure it doesn't hit the camera housing. Insert the bolt into the knob part. Glue the camera mount to the pistol grip with the knob in place. Cut the M6 bolt to fit and screw it into the grip's bottom hole (avoid over-tightening). Enjoy your new camera setup!
