Sony A7 grip extention
thingiverse
The body of my Sony Alpha 7 camera was a bit tricky to hold. I made several attempts to design this grip extension before it felt comfortable in hand, even with big lenses attached. Now, it's easy to grasp and maneuver. To build it, you'll need a few specific parts: a washer M6 DIN 125, a 4 mm steel rod measuring exactly 127mm long, and a UNC-screw for mounting it securely to your camera body. It's essential to unscrew the extension when changing batteries. On the bottom right of the camera lies a 2mm hole, which you can use as a guide by inserting a 1,75mm filament pin. The design also incorporates a frustum of a pyramid that fits neatly into my tripod. Later on, I created an additional foot component that collapses for stability. It stands confidently with the SEL 2870 Lens attached. The vertical angle can be adjusted by unfolding this foldable foot. To build it, you'll need to gather these specific parts: - One hexnut M4 - One screw M4x12 DIN 912 - Two screws M3x20 DIN 912
