Sony A6000/A7 Hot Shoe Cover
thingiverse
This is an elementary design aimed at shielding the hot shoe of a Sony A6000 camera from overheating. It might also suit cameras that rely on identical hot shoes, though this hasn't been extensively tested yet. By stopping before it reaches the multi-interface pins, this cover provides targeted protection without encroaching further. The components are quite affordable: around $7 when purchased directly from Sony or about three dollars less on online marketplaces like eBay. This solution is essentially free in terms of printing costs, making it a valuable investment that practically prints itself due to the extremely low price tag. Instructions All you need to do is print this design and voila! It requires no supporting material or elaborate settings; basic printing configurations suffice. I printed it using a 0.4 mm nozzle with black ABS material set at a 0.3 layer height.
