The high-quality low-poly 3D model of the Sony 300mm f/2.8 G SSM II Telephoto Prime Lens is widely used in various fields of 3D Graphics such as game development, advertising, interior design, motion picture art, visualization and more. Modeling was made from ortho-photos of a real lens that accurately recreated all details of its design. This model is easy to use due to its simple structure consisting of three meshes with a low-polygonal count, saving system resources. It also features three materials: the Lens body and two for the Glass Lens. Regardless of the renderer used, this model always looks realistic thanks to high resolution photo-textures. The clever topology of the low-poly model combined with detailed textures achieves maximum quality while minimizing polygon count. This makes it suitable even for close-ups. Advanced realism is enhanced by the use of Specular, Glossiness and Bump maps. A Bump Multiplier of 0.1 to 0.2 in Maya Software materials or V-Ray MTL materials gives the best Bump depth results. Specular and Glossiness maps control the reflective and dispersing capacities of different model areas, creating a more complex effect than a single material. The four main textures are included at 4096 pixels square resolution in PNG format with original texture files in PSD format also provided. The model was created in the Maya 2009 3D program with correct real-world dimensions in centimeters. All parts are correctly grouped and named. An adjusted render-scene is available for the Maya 2014 version with the V-Ray 2.40 renderer plug-in, compatible with earlier versions up to the Maya 2012 and V-Ray 2.0. This scene includes six V-Ray Rect Light + reflectors with V-Ray MTL material assigned to the model. Preview images set relevant Timeline keys of model and Render Camera positions; remove animation keys from translation and rotation channels if unnecessary. The model can be easily imported into other 3D programs using scenes saved in formats .fbx, .obj, .DAE, or .max (2010 version). Note that this is a low-poly model designed for rendering only, not suitable for use with smoothing modifiers.
