This replacement case allows the Sonoff SNBN-02 to be use on a water pipe to measure the surface temperature of the pipe. I use this to monitor the performance of my central heating system. I have compared the Sonoff with analogue pipe thermometer and it is always 5 degrees less then the thermometer. An L-shaped copper heat sink attached it to the sensor with a drop of thermal paste improves the accuracy of the temperature so that it is very close to the actual surface temperature of the pipe. The current is for 22mm pipe, I am planning a 15mm version soon. ## Update 11 Jan 2021 v2 Old one does not quite fit correctly. and i have reduced the amount of plastic a bit to help tie it on to the pipe. I have added a slot to allow space or an 'L' shaped piece of copper 1mm thick to act as a heat sink. Use the 'no-heatsink' file if you don't plan to use a heatsink so that the sensor sits very close to the pipe. ## Update 14 Jan 2021 v3 Added better holes to the case for using a locking wire to hold the case to the pipe. Slightly better clearance for the battery compartment circuit board supports.
